What we will show

From 23.-27.April 2018 Mitsubishi Electric will demonstrate at the Hanover Fair Industry 4.0 solutions, developed in the context of our own e-F@ctory concept.

360° digitization, that means we will present trend topics like digitization, edge computing etc., but also OEE, predictive maintenance and monitoring/analysis tools for drive, control and robotics, energy management as well as collaborative and cooperative robots.

Digital transformation in its smart way

At our booth you will learn how digitization can make your production more flexible. The intelligent use of integrated automation platforms opens up new potential for production optimization.

Among other things, all applicative data from the robotics, drive and control systems of the Mitsubishi Electric automation world as well as the partner applications will be transferred to the superordinate SCADA system MAPS (Mitsubishi Androit Process Suite).

Experience live how data from the production environment is captured and transmitted to MAPS for visualization, monitoring, and process analysis, and how Mitsubishi Electric's e-F@ctory concept provides a way to deliver cyber-secure, open edge computing solutions for direct production connectivity to develop the cloud.

Poka Yoke – Guided Operator Solutions

The art of a perfect manual assembly work place. In cooperation with our premium system partner Handke Industrie-Technik GmbH we present a complete solution that can be used to make manual assembly applications error-free.

In addition to the flexibility in the creation of manual assembly work place from Handke, the Poka Yoke Controller offers many more options. The system offers a wide variety of sensors, enables the use of electrical industrial screwdrivers and / or barcode scanners and can be expanded as well as integrated into existing production processes.

As a special feature, Mitsubishi Electric accesses the full shelf of its own portfolio and introduces a robot with the safe protective skin MELFA SafeSkin at the manual workstation. The standard MELFA robot can thus cooperate directly with humans and support the manual assembly work place.

Collaborative robot

While the precision of some collaborative robots may be reduced in comparison with industrial versions, the Mitsubishi Electric model’s performance characteristics mirror those of the company’s industrial autonomous robot range. This means a repeat accuracy of ±0.02 mm, despite the inclusion of sensitive force/torque sensors. Load capacity of the shown robot model is between 5 and 6 kg and reach is between 800 and 1000 mm.

As well as performance, Mitsubishi Electric has also addressed ease of use, with innovative and, to date, unique control and programming options. A touch-screen operator terminal, which can be plugged into the robot, provides an intuitive interface to ‘teach’ the robot its task, without any special programming expertise. The teach functionality includes a ‘direct control’ mode which allows the operator to move the robot from position to position, by hand and with controlled force. Once the set-up is complete, the operator terminal is easily removed to give the robot full freedom of movement.

Mitsubishi Electric offers the opportunity with its ready-made Smart Condition Monitoring Kits as a powerful complete solution for easy integration into existing applications. Compared to conventional monitoring concepts, the modular Plug & Play system not only analyzes classic machine data such as temperature, but also vibration-dependent parameters.

Typical application areas for the kits are pumps, compressors, fans, conveyor belts, but also processing systems from different industries.
